Different types of Alarm Panels, Past and PresentÂ
There are a few different kinds of Alarm systems, and we will be discussing the pros and cons as well as the advantages and disadvantages of Wired panels, wireless panels, Hybrid panels, as well as integrated systems.
The picture you see on the left shows an old Battery-operated Toggle Switch panel, which has been replaced with what we now call the Modern alarm system.
A Modern-day alarm system is operated by means of a Keypad as opposed to switching circuits on and off using the relevant toggle switch. The keypad is also used to Arm and Disarm the system by entering a valid user code. We will be revisiting operating the Alarm System with Keypads in our section on Operational equipment.
